Important Notes

  • Notes can only be exported in Microsoft Word (.docx) and TXT formats.

  • Exported notes are timestamped per section. If you need to reference specific parts of the audio, you can manually add timestamps by highlighting a word or phrase in Sonix to view the exact timestamp, then inserting it into your note before exporting.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to your Sonix account.

  2. Open your transcription

    • From your Dashboard or Home page, select the transcription file that contains notes or annotations.

  3. Verify your notes

    • Confirm that your transcription includes notes or annotations (these may appear as comments or additional text within the transcript). These can be found in the yellow notepad located at the right side of the editor.

  4. Export the file

    • Click on the Export button.

    • Choose Microsoft Word (.docx) or TXT as the file format.

  5. Download your file

    • Once the export is complete, download the file.

    • The notes should automatically appear at the top of the exported Word or TXT document.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Why don’t my notes appear when exporting to PDF?

Notes cannot be exported in PDF format. Please use Microsoft Word or TXT instead.

Why are my notes missing in my Word or TXT export?

Ensure you selected Microsoft Word (.docx) or TXT when exporting, as these are the only formats that support notes. Also, make sure that your transcription includes the notes or annotations you added in the yellow notepad located at the right side of the editor.
