Important Notes
Using strikethrough or creating clips does not change or overwrite your original file.
Premium and Enterprise users receive full-resolution exports.
Standard users receive compressed exports for faster processing and smaller file sizes.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Using Strikethrough to Remove Unwanted Sections

The strikethrough section will be excluded from playback.
An option to exclude strikethrough words is available when exporting the file to .mp3 or .mp4, and the output quality depends on your plan.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting
My clip export took longer than expected. Is that normal?
Yes. Export times can vary depending on file size, internet speed, and system load. High-resolution files, especially on Premium and Enterprise plans, may take longer to process.
My clip includes parts I struck through. How do I remove them?
When exporting to Microsoft Word, ensure the 'Remove strikethrough text' option is enabled; otherwise, strikethrough portions will be included in the export.
Why does my exported clip have no audio or video?
Check that you selected an active portion of your transcript with media attached. If your clip area is fully struck through or silent, the export may appear blank.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the export quality for one clip?
No. Export quality is based on your plan and can’t be adjusted for individual clips.
Can I upgrade temporarily to export one high-quality file?
There’s no single-file upgrade option, but you can upgrade to Premium, export your files, and switch back later if you prefer.
What happens if I apply strikethrough but don’t export the file?
The edits are saved within your project and reflected in playback inside Sonix but don’t alter your original upload.
Can I use clips and strikethroughs together?
Yes. You can apply strikethrough edits first, then create clips from the remaining content. Struck-through sections will be excluded from the exported clip if that setting is enabled.
