Important Notes
Only account owners or administrators with multi-user permissions can remove users.
Confirm the removal carefully, as this action cannot be undone from the removed user’s perspective.
Once a user is removed, they can no longer access any transcripts or files, but all their projects and transcripts will remain stored in your account.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Click your name in the upper right corner of the Sonix page.
Select My Account from the dropdown menu.
On the right pane, under Multi-user settings, click Manage Users.
Under Current Users, locate the user you want to remove and click the Remove button beside the role dropdown.
You will be directed to a confirmation page. Click Remove Access to finalize the removal.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
Why don’t I see the “Manage Users” option?
Make sure you are logged in as an account owner or administrator. If the option still doesn’t appear, contact the account owner or administrator to have your permissions updated.
I accidentally removed the wrong user. Can I restore access?
Once a user is removed, their access is immediately revoked. To restore access, you’ll need to send a new invite to their email. Please note that restoring a user will require an available seat on your account or adding a new seat if none are available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the removed user be notified?
No, Sonix does not automatically send an email notification when a user is removed. If you need to inform the user, you’ll need to do so manually.
Can I schedule a removal for a future date?
At this time, Sonix does not support scheduling user removals. All removals take effect immediately once confirmed.
Does removing a user free up a seat right away?
Yes. As soon as the user is removed, their seat becomes available for reassignment. You can invite a new user immediately as long as the seat is open.
Can I remove myself from an account?
Only account owners can transfer ownership before removing themselves. Otherwise, removal is restricted to other users.
