How can I update my payment method?

This article explains how to update the payment method on your Sonix account. The steps vary depending on whether you are on a Premium plan or a Standard (pay-as-you-go) plan, so please follow the section that applies to your account.

Important Notes

  • Only account owners or administrators with billing permissions can update billing information.

  • Premium plans allow you to update credit or debit card details directly within the account.

  • Standard (pay-as-you-go) plans do not have a saved billing section; payment details are entered at checkout when purchasing hours.

Step-by-Step Instructions

For Premium Plan Accounts

  1. Go to the Sonix login page and sign in using your registered email and password.

  2. Navigate to the Billing section of your account.

  3. Click Update Billing. And Change Credit Card on file.

    4. Enter your new credit or debit card information.

    5. Click Update Billing Information to confirm and save your changes.

For Standard (Pay-As-You-Go) Accounts

  • Standard plan users do not have a billing section where card details can be edited.

  • Standard plans operate on a pay-as-you-go basis, meaning payment details are entered each time transcription hours are purchased.

  • When you’re ready to buy hours, you can simply use a new card during checkout.

  • Access the checkout page here:
    https://my.sonix.ai/account/standard_checkout/new

At this time, there is no option to edit or store card details in advance for Standard plans.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Why don’t I see an “Update Billing” option?

You may be on a Standard (pay-as-you-go) plan, which does not support saved billing details. Alternatively, you may not have billing permissions on the account.

Why am I still being charged on my old card after updating my payment information?

Please ensure you clicked Update Billing Information and received confirmation. If the issue persists, contact Sonix Support.

Can I save multiple cards on my account?

At this time, Sonix only supports one saved card for Premium plan accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does updating my billing information affect my current subscription?

No. Updating your credit card will not change your plan or billing cycle.

Can I switch cards for just one invoice?

Premium plans will always charge the saved card on file. Standard plans allow you to use a different card each time you purchase hours.
