Important Notes
Sonix Voiceprint allows the platform to recognize speakers across multiple recordings.
Instead of generic labels like Speaker 1 or Speaker 2, you can assign real names to speakers.
Once a speaker is remembered, Sonix will automatically label that voice in future transcripts when detected.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Upload and Open a Transcript
Upload an audio or video file to your Sonix account.
Once the transcription is complete, open the transcript to view the speakers.
Step 2: Rename the Speaker
Click the Speaker 1 label in the transcript.
2. Rename it to the actual name of the speaker.
Note: If there are multiple speakers in the recording, you can repeat this step for each speaker label (e.g., Speaker 2, Speaker 3, etc.) to assign their correct names.
Step 3: Save the Voiceprint
Click the fingerprint icon located in the top navigation bar.
2. Select REMEMBER SPEAKER.
Note: In the future, you can click Manage Saved Speakers from the Voiceprint menu if you want to edit or delete saved speakers.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
Why is the speaker not recognized in another file?
Voice recognition accuracy depends on audio clarity and consistency. Sonix requires at least 5 seconds of clear audio from a speaker to create a reliable Voiceprint. Once this requirement is met, Sonix will automatically recognize and label that speaker in future recordings. However, if the audio quality is poor or the speaker’s voice sounds significantly different, Sonix may not recognize the speaker accurately.
Can I edit the speaker's name later?
Yes. You can edit or update saved speaker names at any time. Inside the transcript editor, click the Voiceprint (fingerprint) icon in the top navigation bar and select Manage Saved Speakers. From there, you can rename or delete any saved speakers as needed.
