What Happens When You Cancel Your Subscription?
When you cancel your subscription, you will be presented with the following options:
Option 1: Cancel My Subscription
If you choose to cancel your subscription:
Your account will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle.
Once your subscription period ends, uploading new files will be disabled.
Your existing transcripts will remain accessible.
All media files stored in your account will be permanently compressed, and the original-quality media files cannot be recovered.
Option 2: Store Originals & Keep Access
If you want to maintain access to your original-quality media files:
You can purchase the Storage Plan.
The Storage Plan allows you to store and maintain your original media files.
The Storage Plan costs $5.00 per month per 50GB of storage.

Go to your Sonix account settings page: https://my.sonix.ai/account
Navigate to My Account.
Under Billing & Usage, click on Cancel Subscription
4. Follow the prompts to choose whether you would like to:
Cancel your subscription, or
Store your original media files using the Storage Plan.

Will I lose access to my transcripts if I cancel my subscription?
No. Your transcripts will remain available in your Sonix account after cancellation. However, uploading new files will be disabled once your subscription period ends unless you resubscribe.
Will I be charged after cancelling my subscription?
No. Cancelling your subscription stops future automatic renewal charges. Your account will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Can I resubscribe in the future?
Yes. If you need to transcribe more files later, you can resubscribe anytime from your account settings page: https://my.sonix.ai/account
What happens to my media files if I do not purchase storage?
If you cancel your subscription without purchasing the Storage Plan, your media files will be permanently compressed after your subscription ends. Original-quality media files cannot be restored afterward.
Can I stop auto-renewal without cancelling my subscription?
In most cases, stopping automatic renewal requires cancelling your subscription from your account settings.

Will cancelling my subscription remove my account access?
No. Cancelling your subscription does not remove access to your Sonix account. Your account, transcripts, and files will remain accessible even after your subscription ends. You will only lose access to your account and its contents if you choose to permanently delete your account.
Can I restore my original media files after they are compressed?
No. Once media files are permanently compressed, the original-quality files cannot be recovered.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
Why can't I upload new files after cancelling my subscription?
Once your subscription ends, uploading new audio or video files is disabled. To upload new files again, simply resubscribe to a Sonix plan from your account settings.
Why can't I find my original media files?
If your subscription ended without a Storage Plan, your original media files were permanently compressed and cannot be restored. Your transcripts will still be available in your Sonix account.
I accidentally cancelled my subscription. What should I do?
If your subscription is still active and has not yet reached the end of the current billing period, contact Sonix Support as soon as possible. The team can review your account and advise you on the available options. If your subscription has already ended, you can resubscribe at any time from your account settings.
