How do I apply for an Education or Non-Profit discount?

  • Discount offers must be activated within the timeframe stated in the email.

  • The discount expiration date appears only in the offer email.

  • Discounted plans can only be paid using a credit card.

  • Discounted plans include two separate charges:

    • Subscription fee

    • Transcription usage is billed at $5/hour, and translation usage is billed at $3/hour.

  • Reminder emails are sent 7 days before renewal (invoice not included).

  • Invoices are generated on the renewal date.

  • Discounted plans renew automatically using the credit card on file.

  • Renewal invoices are emailed to the billing contact and can also be downloaded in the Sonix account.

  1. Visit the Sonix Discounts page and submit your application.

  2. Once approved, you’ll receive an email with your discount offer and expiration date.

  3. Click the offer link in the email to activate your discount before it expires.

  4. Check your inbox and spam folder for the offer email if you don’t see it.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Education: A valid university/school email (or supporting documents).

  • Non-Profit: Official documentation proving nonprofit status.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

I can’t see the “Apply for discount” button even though I’m using my school email.

Your school’s email domain may not be in our system. Email Sonix Support from your school address so they can verify and assist.

I forgot the expiration date of my discount offer. What should I do?

Check the original offer email. If you can’t locate it, contact Sonix Support for help.

I missed the 14-day activation window. Can I still use my discount?

Yes. Contact Sonix Support so they can assist with activating your offer or issuing a new link.

What happens if Sonix discontinues the discount program?

Existing approved accounts will keep their discount, but no new discounted plans will be issued.

I didn’t receive a reminder email before renewal. What should I do?

Check your spam/junk folder and confirm that your billing email is correct in your account settings.

I can’t find my invoice after renewal. Where is it?

Invoices are generated on the renewal date. You can view or download it directly from your Sonix account invoices page. If you still have issues, contact Sonix Support for assistance.

No. Invoices are only generated on the actual renewal date.

I applied for the discount and paid the subscription, so why was I charged for transcription?

The subscription fee does not include transcription hours. Usage is billed separately at $5 per hour.

Yes. As long as you’re eligible, Sonix Support can help switch you to the discounted plan.

I paid for the discounted annual subscription but only used it for a few months. Can I get a refund?

No. Prorated refunds are not available because these plans are already significantly discounted and non-refundable.
