At Sonix, we’re committed to offering powerful, high-quality transcription and analysis services to all our customers. Our plans are designed to accommodate a wide range of usage—from individual professionals to teams handling large volumes. To ensure consistent performance and equitable access, we apply a Fair Use Policy.

What “Fair Use” Means at Sonix

Our Fair Use Policy is in place to prevent misuse or excessive consumption that could negatively affect service quality for others. Most customers will never encounter these limits—but if your usage significantly exceeds what’s typical for your plan, we may intervene.

Examples of unfair use may include:

  • Sharing account access across multiple unrelated users or organizations

  • Consistently transcribing at volumes 5-10x higher than your normal usage

  • Archival projects, continuous live transcription and bulk volume transcription projects aren't included.

What Happens If You Exceed Fair Use

If your usage is flagged for exceeding fair use thresholds, we may:

  • Contact you with a usage review and suggest plan adjustments

  • Temporarily restrict additional uploads or throttle processing speed

  • Suspend or terminate your account in cases of confirmed abuse (with prior notice)

We’re Here to Help

If you regularly need higher volumes, we’re happy to accommodate through a custom plan.

We value transparency and flexibility. If you’re unsure whether your use case fits within fair use, or if your needs are growing, please reach out to [email protected]. We’ll work with you to find the best solution.
