Select YouTube from the available upload options.

Click Transcribe YouTube Video to start the process.

3. Go to the Upload page.
4. Select YouTube from the available upload options.

6. Click Transcribe YouTube Video to start the process.

My 8.5-hour YouTube video upload is stuck or still in progress. What should I do?

Very long videos may time out before Sonix can fully retrieve them from YouTube. If the upload times out, it will show as Failed. The best solution is to download the video directly and upload the file instead.

Does Sonix transcribe YouTube ads?

No. Sonix does not transcribe standard YouTube ads. It pulls only the main audio track of the video. Pop-up or pre-roll ads from YouTube are not included in processing.

We’re having issues with YouTube videos that were livestreamed. What can we do?

Livestreamed content can sometimes cause processing or timing errors. Contact Sonix Support so the team can investigate and fix or reprocess the upload.

Can I upload YouTube videos while still on the trial plan?

Yes—but only after Support enables the feature for your account.

Does uploading a YouTube video cost extra?

YouTube uploads use the same transcription minutes or are charged per hour as any other file, depending on your plan.

Why can’t my private YouTube video be transcribed?

Sonix can only access public or unlisted videos. Private videos cannot be pulled from YouTube.
